Grass of Phantom

Taoyuan Stone Dragon's Tail (Limnophila taoyuanensis) is a unique aquatic plant species in the Taoyuan area. Resin is used to decorate a circular three-dimensional floating installation., recreating the distinctive features of Taoyuan Stone Dragon's Tail, such as the yellow base and white powder on the upper lip. Additionally, several visual representations of native Taiwanese plants are added to the water, including the floating-leaved herb and aquatic plant. This composition symbolizes the extinction and rebirth of plant populations within a diverse ecological environment, emphasizing the importance of cultural sustainability and natural conservation.

The artist is a Taiwanese interdisciplinary artist who has been residing and creating in various places, including New York, Spain, India, Singapore, and South Korea in recent years. Their works are concept-driven, inspired by contemporary life and historical archives, and translated into imaginative and powerful creations. They employ diverse artistic media, including performance art, mixed media, and site-specific installations.

Some of their recent exhibition experiences include solo exhibitions titled "Infinite Archives" at Taipei Fine Arts Museum, "Past Futures" at TIFA in India, and participation in the "2019 International Experimental Video Art Festival" in Bilbao, Spain, "The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale" in 2019, and "Solitude Theater" in Seoul, South Korea, in 2020.
