The Dull-Ice Flower: The Flower Wall of Literacy

The Dull-Ice Flower: The Flower Wall of Literacy

The lyrics of the theme song for the movie "The Dull-Ice Flower" go as follows: "A little child, missing his late mother. Those stars, blinking dim and bright. Mom’s heart, close as the dull-ice flower..." The dull-ice flower usually grows on impoverished land in rural areas and serves as fertilizer for tea trees after withering. The artwork, created through collaboration with the students of Longtan Elementary School, involves observing the appearance of the dull-ice flowers and using printmaking techniques. Through the flowers, the artwork conveys the cultural significance of the Hakka people and becomes the charming the Garden of Literacy in the old street district.
