GABION

GABION

"Boundary of Emptiness" is an artwork that uses mixed media to explore the unnoticed gaps and boundaries in everyday life. It draws inspiration from Hakka customs to examine the relationship between humans, cultures, and nature. By incorporating stone and tree shapes, it creates an extended metaphor. Empty stone cages are arranged around the artwork, symbolizing boundaries used in engineering projects. The artwork challenges traditional notions of separation and prompts reflection on the interconnectedness of our existence.

Yasuaki Onishi

Yasuaki Onishi, an artist from Osaka, Japan, is renowned for his skill in utilizing unassuming transparent materials to adorn visual installations. Over the course of 17 years, he has dedicated himself to the field of spatial art and sculpture, holding solo exhibitions in Japan, the United States, and Europe. In his works, Onishi conveys a profound "ethereal" imagery, devoid of colorful pigments and intricate decorations. Instead, he uses materials such as plastic film, glue, twigs, and thread to outline the forms, occasionally incorporating everyday objects like books, vases, and cars to create minimalist yet infinitely imaginative art pieces.

He has participated in the "2020 Taiwan Light Festival" and the "2019 Taoyuan Land Art Festival." His minimalist style allows viewers to immerse themselves in the space of the artwork, perceiving a sense of tranquility and Zen within.
