Underground Archaeological Exploration: Daily Living at Hutoushan

Underground Archaeological Exploration: Daily Living at Hutoushan

The local history of Hutoushan can be learned underground. We invite visitors to search for archaeological clues in Hutoushan’s exhibition areas to observe the scenery that once existed thousands of years ago.

Date:11th Mar. (Fri)-27th Mar. (Sun) 10:00 - 18:00
Location:The tunnel by the Owl Forest School and open space around the Liusu Park

Hutoushan is a mountain thousands of years in the making. On it, fascinating objects such as dinosaur art installations, hiking trails, and picnic tables and chairs can be found. To discover Hutoushan Park’s history, the archaeological team of the Department of Anthropology, National Taiwan University dug an archaeological exploration pit inside the park, revealing the fact that we are not the first group of people who engage in human activities here. In fact, traces of and utensils used by people who once lived here can be found, where the people occupied this region before the Hutoushan Park was ever built. The local history of Hutoushan can be learned underground. We invite visitors to search for archaeological clues in Hutoushan’s exhibition areas to observe the scenery that once existed thousands of years ago.
