臺灣 Taiwan

Hung Yi was born in Taichung in 1970. In his early career, he was known for paintings in the style of social realism. From 2000 on, he has developed sculptures with simple shapes, lively patterns, and strong colors. Odd lines and interesting patterns always leave the impression of joy and pleasure to the viewers. Since 2006, the colors used in his works have been transformed from multi-colors to single color. Having been frequently invited to showcase his works abroad in recent years, Hung Yi further believes that arts need to keep up with the time and the development of art will focus on the East in the future.
