Cloud9: Raining

Cloud9: Raining

Cloud 9: Raining is a series of floating rain clouds hovering and raining over the water body juxtaposed against the tranquil and serene backdrop of the Xipopitang Sheng Tai Park. The clouds are both a humorous and absurd attempt to re-create Nature as well as a solemn symbol of Man’s futile effort at re-creating the once natural occurrences that urbanization and climate change has affected and effected. As 663 million people live without easy access to clean water globally, the clouds also serve a reminder about the bane and boon of inclement weather conditions mankind is at the mercy of. Like a cartoon cloud that follows and looms ominously, the cluster of floating rainclouds generating an endless rainfall and illuminating from within hover magically over the enclosed water body, creating a visual spectacle to behold.
