BECOMING

In her new work RISE artist Olga Ziemska uses bamboo, a native natural material of Taiwan and an ecologically-sensitive building material, to create 36 sculptural elements that feature individual hands cast from the Taoyuan public to include in the making of the 15 foot tall outdoor artwork. Blending the human body with nature, Ziemska’s work reminds us not to forget about our inseparable connection to nature and that WE ARE NATURE. There is no separation, we are one.

Olga ZIEMSKA is a Polish-American sculptor and public artist that currently lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally at venues such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (USA), Centre of Polish Sculpture (Poland), YATOO International (Korea) and RespirArt Sculpture Park (Italy).
